GA Optimisation of a Diagnostic System for Dementing Diseases |
We have developed a genetic algorithm for optimising a technique for diagnosing dementing diseases by taking coarse regional measurements of cerebro-spinal fluid volumes to measure the distribution of cerebral atrophy. The original technique is described in TINA Memo no. 2000-007, and has also been published in Radiology (Thacker et. el., Radiology 224 p 278-285, 2002). The technical details of the GA are described in TINA Memo no. 2002-008. Below are some lectures I have given on GAs in general and our diagnostic technique in particular.
